Trois Gros Cesar ***Michelin stars since 1968

A few kilometers from Roanne, the Troisgros family has a masterpiece by Patrick Bouchain, a u-shaped space with large windows, built around a century-old oak tree, and steel tree trunks, turquoise Little tulip chairs and clouds of hanging lights resembling flying bats. For us, on the menu that lunchtime the fabulous pigeon served rare, wrapped in a red leaves, watermelon, tomato, beetroot, red currants, strawberries and infused monarda leaves, mixed with sweet and sour vinegar tones.

Its easy to criticize the idea of tradition and at the new Trois Gros in Ouches you’ll taste the pigeon which is a unique dish. The acidity is marvelous and the sauce superb and wonderful to experience between fruits and vegetables the pigeon, a combination between acidity and softness.

With César as chef, representing the 4th generation, the Troisgros family continues its path in culinary excellence. This new establishment is in the heart of a park of more than ten hectares, represents the reference of new Michelin.

What spacious kitchens open to nature! The interior architecture plays the card of contemporary chic with a large hint of originality: Corten steel columns in the dining room, a metaphorical allusion to the surrounding forest.
The plate is in unison for this “grande goûter” menu which plays with flavors and consistencies. The average level is excellent even if it is still difficult to detect THE reference dish. There remains a presentation which could – a question of taste – be clearer and more precise. The wine list borders on the sublime; however, it offers much more accessible bottles for a proven quality.
The young service is efficient, friendly, accessible.
To be enjoyed
