Yoshino Roppongi, a sushi master, known as Mr. T.,

Yoshino Roppongi, a sushi master, known as Mr. T., he was my brother, close family friend, culinary mentor and much more to our family.

I met him 43-years ago, we were young and Masayoshi worked with his wife of 50-years at the same restaurant. He was adored by all his clients, many were faithful prime ministers, and others like us were sushi aficionados.

We spent many holidays together and travelled to Miami, London, Mykonos, Toronto, Los Angeles, Beijing, Angkor Wat and many more places. He supported us, hosted us and was always beside us.

Sadly, he passed away today unexpectedly, and we couldn’t imagine how it happened. Fortunately last week Mr. T invited us for delicious sushi lunch 🍣 thinking it was our last sushi of 2023–and it ended up our last sushi together.

We celebrated his last on night on earth at home enjoying Ishikawa crab, and handcrafted Karasumi.

We called him “King Papa” our guiding force— our beloved and trusted friend who was always there for us.

We will miss his smile, laughter and love for life—and may he rest in peace —forever —we will see you again someday Mr. T ❤️🙏❤️
