I cannot think of a worse crime when it comes to a wine maker. Gianfranco Soldera, one of the great Italian wine makers was vandalized yesterday. Vandals broke into his cellars and opened the spigots on his large wooden barrels. He lost his entire production of wines spanning six vintages from 2007 to 2012. This is terrible news for a man who gives every part of his soul to making great wines.
