I saw this baby zucchini squash and the color struck me as something I had never seen. A golden color, not so yellow as most summer zucchini appear. It was absolutely perfect as you can see.
The female flower was missing unfortunately. What you should know is; there are two flowers, a female flower that blossoms on the end of each emergent zucchini, whereas, the male flower grows directly on the stem of the zucchini plant on the long stalk, and is slightly smaller than the female. But both flowers are edible and delicious.
