QR Codes

This box of Kumquats is an example of produce labeling with QR Codes. The QR Code resolves to a mobile site where the consumer can learn everything about the farm, the way the fruit was grown and even see a photo of the farmer and his wife. Many of us have no idea what a QR code is.

Look in the right top corner of the labeling (right of the photo) and you’ll see a black and white graphic puzzle with 3 squares in the 3 corners. That is the coding. It is quite incredible considering it looks like mumbo-jumbo unless you have a reader. The reader can be found at the app store. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QR_code
