Arneson Drives

To the boating industry this looks pretty junky, but to a trained eye, the theory behind this machine is cleaver. Yes this is an engine from a long-tail boat and yes we are in Thailand. For those of you who are familiar with Arenson drives, this machine is based on the same principles.

The Arneson drives push the boats from behind. The propeller sits near the surface and can be adjusted to provide a thrust of power. The surface drives are not bound by the forces of most rear propellers that sit under the water and are sluggish.
