Years and years ago when I first arrived on the shores of Japan there were traditional “drip coffee” establishments serving the finest drip coffee. Eventually and over time, they were replaced by the grotesque coffee franchise operators. Now a days, there are a few still standing, and one I ran across recently was Binya. This is a traditional coffee shop serving finest ground and brew’d coffee. They also serve as a novelty ice cream mocha, which is sold frequently in the winter given this past winter has been relatively warm. If you have time pass by and try one of their mocha cones, they are the real deal in taste.
