Jean Foillard’s Morgons are a species all by themselves. The Côte de Py in Morgon is a large hill with soils of schist and granite, an extinct volcano.
His Morgon opened up, an intensely perfect wine, a very beautiful Beaujolais. The fruit was joyous and well defined with structure, a hard characteristic to find in many Beaujolais wines. Both complex and well-balanced defines Foillard’s 2009, with such incredible clarity and intensity. (95+ Points)
