A rare opportunity to try the 1998 in Australia.
I adore the wines of G. Conterno and especially when I taste them in Piedmont. The wine is old-fashioned, bold and has a forward fruit with a leather and chocolate finish.
Sweetness creeps through as the wine is carried along with a nice balance of soft tannins. The fruit is ripe and the color excellent with shadows of age, and it shows that G. Conterno made wines with the idea to age them. (Points 91+)
