After some days of rain, the sun broke and we headed off to Kamakura, one of our favorite tourist destinations. This is 13 meter Buddha is amongst the most amazing structures dating back 700 years. The technique to join the bronze plates is indicative of Japanese thinking, the thought process of connecting this Buddha into a figure that could withstand time, at least so far. Since 1495 the Buddha is standing outside and has survived the buildings that originally housed it. If you go, make sure to go to the side on the right and make a visit inside.
