I had the great pleasure to host Jamie Araujo and share some of her current vintages, 07 and 09. The 06, I tasted myself the night before, and after a few hours of decanting, and was hardly ready for drinking. The 07 was slammed by Parker but I think this wine has plenty of personality and yet the smoothness and edge that I like. The 2009 was the most powerful fruit, but it wasn’t my favorite out of the three. The 2006 was very rich as well, these wines are fruit driven but eventually loosen up. The fruits are saturated with aromas of Napa’s best. As a side note, this wine is bio-dynamic and the wine maker was well-trained in Australia t Cullen’s winery.
