Starbucks

The latest bastardization by “starbucks”, the new Frappuccino; what makes your day? Drop the “b” in Starbucks, and replace it with “l” and it says it all, bucks and bucks and more bucks. It is shocking how Starbucks, and other American brands have infiltrated mainstream Japanese society. The young Japanese are not strong enough to know the difference.

Although Japan was not completely isolated under the Sakoku policy, it was isolated enough to protect the Japanese from foreigners. It was a system in which strict regulations were applied to commerce and foreign relations by the shogunate.

In the end, we cannot survive on more and more sugar-chemicals and artificial flavorings. Somehow we need to say “no” to the poison we are being fed as young people get confused about the false pretensions of modern lifestyle.
