Walk in late, it is open until 02h00. The salad is not a salad, it is “burpless kyuri salada”, a Japanese cucumber sliced paper-thin and fanned out over some lettuce. This is a signature dish of one of our favorite pizzeria in Tokyo – a strange place but charming and open late.

These cucumbers are not similar to the Persian or Lebanese cucumbers and are absolutely burpless. This is not a joke, many bitter, bumpy and thorny cucumbers are the cause of continuous burping.

Japanese cucumbers are mild, slender and deep green, and no burping at all. They can be used for slicing in various types of Japanese cuisine, and are available year-round.
