A friend complained that I tasted the Margaux 2005, he proclaimed, “it is too young”, and I tend to disagree. A wine can be too young, but it can also be too old. There is no way to know the development and evolution of a wine unless you taste it.
In this case, Margaux 2005 is not too young, it has a great fruit, balance and taste, while the Latour 2005 tastes backward and closed. The 2005 Latour is like a rock and unfriendly. I couldn’t see the ultimate long-term potential, not to mention the tartaric acid in all our glasses. I will try it again in a few years but for now forget it!
