You probably heard about this a few years ago. This is relatively gross, meat produced using stem cells, the basic cells that can turn into tissue-specific cells from cow muscle. The cells were multiplied in a nutrient solution and put into small petri dishes, where they became muscle cells and formed tiny strips of muscle fiber. About 20,000 strips were used to make the five-ounce burger, which contained breadcrumbs, salt, and some natural colourings as well. The taste, who cares, but the cost of this project – $325,000. This is what the future has in store for us, that is after we deplete all our resources.
