Table Log [Tokyo]

The night falls quickly, the day begins swiftly, or slowly depending on the night before. Last night, I had 2 hours to prepare a dinner for 4 guests. Luckily the market has fresh veggies, so it’s a matter of slicing, chopping and combining fresh ingredients.

The table is our treasure, a tree that has been dried for 40 years, domestic Japanese wood, a log that was 1.2 metres wide by almost 4 metres long. If you notice, no knots, just waves of life lines, 400 years old and more.
