In a dark corner, a wine bar in Tokyo we keep secret. The first bottle of Roda II Riserva was corked, we were was sad. The second was in perfect condition. This bottle had a great breath of fresh air, we thought it was still young, tannins were round, yet the edge still had a bite. The fruit was not over ripe, it was not overly mature, and I thought it was perfect timing to drink the 1999 – a very good wine.
