In Bhutan food expectations are basic and without much fuss, the opposite to what you get in most other places. This is a typical village grocery shop selling the basic seasonal vegetables and those root vegetables from the winter and some imported ties from India.
A relaxed atmosphere, no pressure and the common denominator is organic; garlic, cabbage, carrots, potatoes, tomatoes and chilly peppers.
When travelling in Bhutan your best bet is visiting the local markets, most weekends you’ll find local farmers selling garden fresh vegetables.
