Resting deep in the cradle of the Himalayas is a magical kingdom with beautiful scenery and fantastic history. It’s not a fairy tale but the idea of Druk Air initially scared my pants off. There is no doubt that flying into and in Bhutan is an experience.
As a very worried passenger, I felt 100% comfortable with Drukair and the internal flights are carefully controlled due to the altitudes and maximum weights. The ATR 42-500 is an easy flight and not uncomfortable. You get used to the banking and sharp turns as the captain manoeuvres around the mountains. Druk’s pilots are very well-trained and are used to flying in and around the country which will put you at ease and the atmosphere is very casual and easy-going.
