I am not 100% sure how many vegetarians there are in the Bhutan. When you visit the market, you see plenty of pork, but I am told they commit suicide, high on Ganja, and they are not subject to any slaughterhouse torture.
The markets in Thimphu are divided between first floor, where the imported Indian goods are sold, and upstairs, where the domestic goods are available. The ground floor didn’t really interest me, so I ventured upstairs to the tariff.
My guide asked me if I wanted to see the meat section, and I suddenly got excited. This section is meat only, where they sell butter, eggs, etc and not much meat, if any at all.
