Siam/Bangkok/Cafe

We have stayed in so many luxury hotels around the globe, but there are few that compare to the Siam in Bangkok. The property is exquisite and it is clear that management understands the idea of luxury, and their owners figured out how to perfect the notion of luxury living in Bangkok.

The bedding, the beds, views, river, restaurants and the setting of the gardens are wonderful. The old feel and the owner’s collection of rare antiques and sculptures is immaculate and well thought out. What we appreciate is; there is no kitsch at Siam, no glitter, or bling that makes it silly.

The hotel is pure and genuine and the careful attention to details shows. The butler service helps you ease into your room, and taste some of Siam’s room service, the satay and peanut sauce is an easy start, or the Wagyu skirt steak – all perfectly presented.

The one thing at Siam is the garden walk from the main building to the old-fashioned restaurants at the river side. The aromas of gardenia and the lotus pods and flowers that open and close.

At the Siam, you can have a drink and watch the sunset by the river, a refreshing cold towel and a mixed drink, or an imported beer from a small brewery in the USA. If you fancy to shoot some billiards on the pro sized table, or go to the ultra modern gym and practice Muay Thai in their golden ring. Their are so many options and kids can watch a movie in the library and enjoy some hand made popcorn.

The restaurants are awesome, the service impeccable, but the casual morning cafe is our favourite, a small space at the entrance side of the hotel. You pass an open garden where the fountain rains into the mouth of a lotus petal.

A refreshing experience, if you feel like a tea, juice, or a homemade scone, or for adults who are thirsty, a glass of cold Champagne – they have it all.

This is a hotel where the owner and manager are in sync and it shows – Bravo Siam!
