Biscuit de Savoie

The history of the biscuit dates back to the 17th century and the seventeenth century saw a culinary revolution which transported French gastronomy into the modern era. This is part of the history, a cake we sometimes refer to as sponge. The French word biscuit, which first begins to refer to desert attributed to François la Varenne, gives instructions for biscuit de Piedmont, made like today’s ladyfingers, as well as biscuit de Savoie.
