Lucky Flower Rose

It isn’t often a friend comes with a flower from their garden and this day we were lucky, a perfumed red rose for good luck.

Through the years, humans have created hybrids from these native species by manipulating the pollen. As a result, in many cases, they traded fragrance for sturdy stems and vibrant color, while other environmental factors contribute to the degree of fragrance that prevails.

It was mainly through hybridization that yellow roses from China were mixed with fragrant roses from England and created a fragrant yellow rose.
