Piquentum Blanc 2013

A really cool label from Istria, located on the northern edge of Mediterranean. In September, when harvest takes place, it is cold during the night helping to maintain acidity and aromas in the grapes. The wine is sharp with acidity with some fruity aromas that almost seems misplaced. It is Malvasia, maceration for 2-3 days, spontaneous fermentation without cooling, 70% aged in wood (barrique), the rest in stainless steel and blended in May and bottled in June.

(90 Points)
