On October 31st the flowers are still blooming and the weather shines with deep rays of sun – a wonderful fall day. We hopped by private boat to the venetian lagoon of Torcello where you can find the fire crackling at the Locanda Cipriani.
Created by Giuseppe Cipriani and is still owned by the Cipriani family, Giuseppe Cipriani is the founder of Harry’s Bar in Venice, Hotel Cipriani in Venice and Villa Cipriani in Asolo. He fell in love with the enchanting corner of the lagoon known as Torcello in the late 1920s and in 1934 Giuseppe bought a modest wine and oil shop. He transformed the shop into an inn (locanda) featuring just a few, beautifully appointed guest rooms surrounded by a garden of flowers and vegetables and boasting an unparalleled view of the churches of Torcello.
