When I saw this, I thought I need to try it, a small odd-looking brownish Kabocha. This is traditionally eaten in celebration of the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year, when people lack the nutrients found more commonly in summer vegetables. This is a fantastic pumpkin, domestic type, short and rippled skin, it has a typical orange interior – I simply roasted in whole and cut it and served it.
