I am softly a knife collector, I am not insane about the processes, or the designs, I simply appreciate the art of knife making. The beauty and talent of man and steel, the high temperatures, the pounding of metal to get softness, technique and skill to transform steel into a blade. The respect for tradition is what drives my knife interests.

These knives are characterized by distinctive patterns of banding and mottling reminiscent of flowing water. Such blades were reputed to be tough, resistant to shattering and capable of being honed to a sharp, resilient edge.
