Komitsu Rare Apples |Aomori|

In fact the inside of the apple looks over ripe, but they are not. These apples are considered “rare” and are most particular having a rich honey center that makes them look as if they are over ripe. Made in Aomori prefecture they genetic pool is made up of 16 parents and the apple has up to 14/16 degrees of sugar content.

Komitsu apples are said to have kodama, a spirit that lives in a tree. The flesh of Komitsu is yellow with moderate acidity to sugar content and has a good balance. In texture reasonable hardness because some say due to Kodama, it is very easy to eat. Honey in the insides – it’s so sweet!
