Green Asparagus |Pertuis not|

Asparagus has been grown in areas of France with sandy soils since the Renaissance, and was a favorite ingredient of many a French king, particularly Louis XIV.

The ultimate white asparagus are from the “landes” regions referred to as “Asperge des Sables” grown in sand and are protected with a g-status but I used to buy the finest from green asparagus from France /gauge+22/ and they are certainly fat and delicious. The green Pertuis asparagus are recognized as being one of the best asparagus varieties over the globe!

Note: these are not from Pertuis.
