I thought this was cleaver, the simple combination of sweet and sour. The grapefruit is known for the sour and semi-sweet taste. Thought to be first bred in Barbados, it was named the “forbidden fruit” as it was unknown to many, even dangerous.

Some believe the fruit’s origins are associated with the 17th century Captain named Shaddock. He possibly carried pomelo seeds to Jamaica and bred the first fruit, or was it a naturally occurring hybrid?
