Things I’ve heard about fruits are: not alone or on an empty stomach, first thing in the morning, never eat fruit alone, always with protein, not after a meal, after a meal, eat fruit for dessert, before every meal, melons alone, one variety of fruit at a time and fruit is okay before noon, but after it should be avoided.
Fresh fruit salad is served all over the globe, and each country has its own ideas about when its best. Some of the best fruit salads we’ve tasted were made in Thailand and Cambodia, and they were served after and often involved intricate carving.
In some countries you’ll find fruit being served at night which is considered strange for some and for others perfectly normal. The French in the south enjoy it throughout the day, a sugar syrup blended with fresh fruit and topped with edible garden flowers, lavender and mint makes this a refreshing evening desert.
