I saw this knife and decided to purchase it and after checking it weighed almost 30-kilos so there was no way to carry it home given its over one meter long. This was part of the shop founders heritage in Matsuzaka, I was lucky it fell into our collection. Forty years ago when the shop was renovated this knife was the shop’s symbol. Today they will close and this wonderful over-sized hand worked and engraved koi, waterfall and Japanese pine is impressive. This is a splendid work depicting typical Japanese tradition.
