Tinos Winter Cabbage 2016

A day in Tinos in search of the worlds most beautiful cabbage – the landscape speaks for itself, its impressive and each part of island gets more and more beautiful. cabbage are special and flowers every two years to complete its biological lifecycle.

The first year the plant grows leaves, stems, and roots and then it enters a period of dormancy during the colder months. Most biennial plants (two year cycle) requires the cold before flowering.

During the next spring or summer the stem bolts and it begins to prepare for the next season. The plant flowers producing fruits and seeds before it finally dies.
