A bold statement in Italian wine making and certainly one of those wines that captures your attention. There is no doubting that Masseto is the pinnacle of all Tuscan red wines. The 2010 is still very young, even closed and seems one-dimensional given it is intensified by density and richness of the red fruits. This wine expands with a velvetyness that warms your entire palate. You may think 2010 is not overly complex – but right now it reads that way and Masseto 2010 definitely needs time to open up. I suggest decanting this wine and maintaining the right temperature to enjoy it to the maximum.
