Speaking with a young Japanese farmer growing passion fruits in Japan, we discussed the idea of trying to grow mangos. But he told me it’s too difficult, time-consuming, and so costly that it’s not worth it. An extraordinary large-sized mango almost 700grams, and the skin is perfect red with hues of yellow. Here we are with an individual mango costing $150, and in years to come Japanese farmers will retire, and such fruits will be lost, or grown by robots.
