It is estimated that between September 1943 and April 1945, 60,000–70,000 Allied soldiers died in Italy. This wine is historic, we can only imagine how difficult a period it was in Europe.
Opened with Frank C from Etna for his 60th Birthday, the wine was light cherry, it had life and drank delicately, hints of leather and aged sherry, it was what I expected a memorable wine.
(No score: Just a wonderful chance to taste it with a friend)
