Is this black or white?

When it comes to truffles it is difficult to tell without getting up close. This in fact is a black shaved over and on raw beef. Once you taste it, you immediately can tell the difference and although this is obvious; you cannot easily tell by sight. Don’t misunderstand, there is no comparison.
