Champagne Salon 1985

I had some complaints about not posting more on wine: so here it is!

Last night we were invited by our dear Canadian friend to visit his impressive art of sixty+ years of collecting. The Picasso was replaced by an early Lauren Harris and it is stunning. The tour of his home which includes a cluster of some very fine treasures and amongst them are some fine wines, which always catch our attention. After all we were there to laugh a little and drink a little.

We started with a 1985 Salon, a fantastic glass of bubbles; in fact it has toasted with age and had hints of exotic fruits. To much surprise it showed age but at the same time it had a freshness of a baby duck. The tour kept us tasting until we huddled into a sedan and whisked downtown for dinner. Considering the age: (95+ Points)
