The Belle Helene was more of an experiment, named after Michel Ogier’s wife. Belle Helene is made from a cask selection of their Cote Rotie, aged in 100% new oak for 30 months, and is a small production. On average, only about 150 cases are produced each year and that is miniscule.
The 1999 is not representative of the vintage and it has a weird lemon backbone. I tried it over several hours and it was a disappointment. (not rated)
