2010 Ramonet – Les Vergers

Ramonet 2010

It has been a long time since I tried Domaine Ramonet. I used to drink their Grand Cru’s often in the 1980’s as they were amongst the best whites. Ramonet used to be in white, the equivalent of Henri Jayer in red.

Pierre Ramonet was the master of white burgundy, you could find him enjoying his glasses of wine in the local restaurant named Montrachet in Puligny Montrachet. Sometimes a little too much wine. I recall thirty years ago, I was @ the Montrachet, and he was sitting at the bar. My friend approached him and he basically told him to “bugger off”, perhaps a little too much too early in the day.

The wines are now made by Noel, he is a good craftsmen but I thought this fell short of my expectations.
