This Premier Cru 1999 has seen better days, it lacks the lustre I expected. The fruit is in a lull, it was showing better three years ago. The 1999 is a good vintage, when I purchased it many thought it was just a good vintage – I think it turned out much better than we thought. Some of the 1999’s are drinking much better and Morey St. Denis wines are more of the elegant side of life, although I still prefer Bonnes Mares.
