Snakes-Snakes-Snakes

Walking the market I crossed paths with this pile of snakes that made me think about being nauseous. Not really but snakes for food is something I can’t associate with, nor the idea of eating insects. These are survival foods, those that are caught in the wild.

Snakes are considered medicinal in Chinese lore, a “warming” food, and the blood of snakes is often mixed with liquor to produce virility. I am told by my guide that snake meat is usually said to taste like chicken, but a closer to frog legs. Snake meat can be very tough if not prepared well.
