Children @ Work

Cambodia is ranked as 154th out of 178 countries in terms of corruption, whereby the powerful are able to further exploit those with less influence. In many countries where the factories are not yet westernized, children still study and work. In Cambodia it is common to find kids carving wood or farming, or doing both.

In the west we frown upon idea that kids are used for a kind work but it is very simple, no work, no food. Life in Cambodia is simply a way of life, a way of life meaning, you grow rice, you harvest rice, you work hard and you’ll survive, you find insects, snakes or whatever mother nature has to offer. If you think otherwise you’ll starve.
