Paeonia California (California Peony or Wild Peony) is one of two species of Peony native to North America. It is native to southwest California, where it grows on dry hillsides in the coastal sage scrub and chaparral communities of the coastal mountains of Southern. It is one of the most people flowers and is exquisite, aromatic like a rose, as it opens in layers upon layers.
