The scoville index helps put in perspective how hot is hot. While in Bhutan, I used spice as much as possible, it seemed customary. I started with green and asked it to be sliced, it measures relatively low on the scale in comparison with Datil, which is an exceptionally hot pepper. Datils vary from 100,000-300,000 on the Scoville scale and they are hot trust me.
