In the 17th century the Ottoman chronicler İbrahim Pecevi reported the opening of the first coffeehouse in Constantinople, and the rest is history.
While in Istanbul I was convinced to visit the most famous coffee-house in the old market, and it wasn’t my first time. I admit that I am not a fan of Turkish coffee for various reasons. I cannot eat coffee powdered instant coffee, and I have not the patience to sip a coffee that is so coarsely ground.
My view is, these coffee are meant to substitute a quick cafe, and a good excuse to sip it for a long time and talk and talk and talk.
