After a visit to the 84th Tartufo Fair in the city of Alba today, I felt somehow disappointed. The crowds were insane, and too many onlookers and non buyers, swarms of people and you could hardly move.
The weather was sunny as people strolled in a short sleeve T-shirts drinking beer. The city was bustling with a circus, and numerous presentations stalls serving street foods.
While the Pico magnatum are plentiful, the truffle aromas are not what I expected, they seem faint in comparison to last year. The weather during the summer was not conducive for propagation, as it was raining too much.
We shall see given its our first day….
