Yuzu

Yes I was corrected by my daughter, I wasn’t embarrassed but surprised that this giant fruit was an over-sized yuzu. This fruit’s size is obviously much larger than the typical yuzu citrus and I suppose it gets a long life on the branch and morphs with bumps.

Now are you ready, the Japanese fruit may be a high-scorer on the scrabble board, but the word ‘yuzu’ only appeared in the Oxford English Dictionary in 2006.

The yellow-orange bumpy skin and the fruit’s intense skin aromas (when scratched) blossom with a floral orange blossom water and a grapefruit’s sparkle.

If you are interested in yuzu avoid the bottled versions as they are mostly garbage copies of chemicals.
