The winery is located in Nittnaus Gols and the east side of Lake Neusiedl, between the higher plate in the north and the flat Heideboden the south.
Built in 1927 today it belongs to and Anita and Hans Nittnaus who purchased it in 1985. They own and operate 36 hectares of vineyard is divided from the northern edge of the Lake Mönchhof to Purbach, focusing Gols and Jois. 90 percent of the area are with red wine, Gamay, Zweigelt, Merlot, and St. Laurent, and 10 percent of white wines are Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay.
The mighty Komondor is Merlot and Gamay is the important flagship wine and it shows a depth of character you wouldnt expect from Gamay-Merlot. The wine kicks up in your glass and shines as it obtains enough aeration. I thought it was awesome and it proves Austrian wines continue to be on the rise.
