Yesterday I was given a small token of appreciation from Sembikiya, Japan’s top fruit purveyor.

Tightly packed, I opened it to find the Ginza apple kuchen made with a Fuji apple flavoured with cinnamon.

The Fuji apples are simmered to perfection to a smooth texture, which are encased in a baumkuchen layered cake originated from Germany. The end result is a cinnamon apple kept moist by the cake’s blanket, and well protected with plastic and white cushioned wrap-only in Japan.
